There's a video of a Mike Moser e-bike on its very first ride, bursting into flame within eight or nine minutes of switch on. No hint of aftermarket or modified anything, total newbie rider (and a clueless idiot as well). The only thing that may have contributed was low outside temperature - but the pack was apparently charged to maximum without incident before the ride... it was while being discharged that it melted down. Have you seen discussion of temperature range for operation of these batteries?
Ok, thanks for the report. Although rare, I guess you can get idiosyncratic failures with anything.
