I think the carrier as it is constituted now, days are numbered unless it can adapt to a changing environment. Unfortunately the US military is always fighting the last war.
Submarines, nuclear or efficient battery/diesel boats offer a lot more punch for the dollar. A modified attack boat with boomer build can throw a lot of missiles besides ICBM’s. That is assuming we have the knowledge to build something like that. Now we can’t seem to build a frigate or a new cruiser to save us out of hell. But our admirals know their correct pronouns...
Unfortunately the US military is always fighting the last war.The last war was air dominance. The next war is not having it, or, at a minimum, not having it in the same way. Not just us, but I wonder if the Chiners realize this.
