How about recognizing that the day of carriers is almost over.

To remain afloat they will have to stay very mobile in blue water and avoid the seas where they now allow force projection.

The Navy will not accept the day of the carrier is over until some are lost. Just as they did not accept the day of the battleship was over until aviation proved so.

You realize they never really go near the shore right? Staying several hundred miles off shores is a 20 minute ride in a jet.
