...and the remedy Congress has ?
Stern letters followed by vacation?
To go back in time and refuse to fund these agencies. This is why some of us feel that Johnson is weak and innept. He should have put them all on 30 day continuing resolutions. Of course he has to deal with a bunch of blithering RINOs.
Appoint a special commission.

One remedy is to cut their budgets every time they refuse to be accountable or answer to the peoples’ representatives.
They way things are now, those agencies fear no consequences for their recalcitrance. We need to elect people who will stand up to them.
None. They aren't willing to drag these scumbags in by the scruff of the neck, and they keep funding the administrative state fully. Face it, the U.S. is officially a banana republic, and is being controlled by nameless and faceless paymasters working for nothing but their own purposes.
Listening to today’s DHS committee hearing, some of the Dems are trying to blame the Trump campaign for holding an event there.
2 U.S. Code § 192 - Refusal of witness to testify or produce papers
“Every person who having been summoned as a witness by the authority of either House of Congress to give testimony or to produce papers upon any matter under inquiry before either House, or any joint committee established by a joint or concurrent resolution of the two Houses of Congress, or any committee of either House of Congress, willfully makes default, or who, having appeared, refuses to answer any question pertinent to the question under inquiry, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 nor less than $100 and imprisonment in a common jail for not less than one month nor more than twelve months.”

I Believe that congress has only requested that they testify at this point. Congress should have started right off with an official Subpoena. But congress likes to play games.
If they were subpoena’d and refused to comply with the subpoena they have, in effect, committed official misconduct. Impeach them.
Won’t happen. But that is what should happen.

They can send the House Sgt At Arms out with arrest warrants and drag them in front of the Committee in chains.
But they won’t.
