“””CBS said that based on lines of sight at the Butler, Pennsylvania, venue where the rally was held, a tree near the building where Crooks positioned himself may have screened him from one of two sniper teams who were positioned to respond to threats such as the one Crooks represented.”””

WAPO published an animation yesterday to provide cover for the SS.

Until the EXACT positions of the shooter, the snipers, location of Trump’s platform, and distances are published, all this is claptrap by the media to provide excuses for their government masters.

Wrong link to the second sniper team.

But that’s an interesting picture of the shooter. What a cutie the gals would be proud to take home to daddy. Yet, we’re still getting pictures of a 15-16 year old without the tats and face jewelry.

Those italian cypress will stop ya every time.

Except the snipers who were inside the building, no, wait, they were in a different building, yeah, that’s the ticket, a different building, could have approached him from the rear and drawn his fire to the opposite direction of the stage. Maybe the coffee was still brewing. Or maybe they were waiting for the guy who called in sick to show up. /s I just don’t get it.

Surprised the SS didn’t bring him donuts and a Starbucks.

...since when does security identify the best sniper position and then simply say, yep, that is ideal place for a sniper to shoot from but it is hard to see from where I’m standing right now, so just ignore that position.

Since late January 2021, evidently.

Cut down the dam# tree ahead of time. I guess the woke SS was more concerned about not “hurting “ the tree. Mother Earth and all that, you know. This was planned and intentional. Heads should roll.

The tree was the least of their fai.ures. first and foremost was the failure to get pres Trump off the stage efore any firing took place, and second was the failure of the cop who was chased away by the perp pointing his gun at him.

The moment they saw the perp RANGE-FINDING the area, then climbing onto the roof (or vise-versa) they should have informed all the ss, who would have then surrounded pres Trump and moved him to safety-

That point can’t be stressed enough. There is no way pres Trump should have still been on that stage, unprotected! The ss were even behind him, sitting, while pres Trump was fully exposed to the building’s line of sight.

What happened was such a colossal failure that it stretches the imiganiation to that one must conclude that either the team was inept, or it was intentional.

The excuse that “the roof was slanted and” and that the director didn’t want her team on that roof is noses as the rooftop from which the ss snipers shot was sloped even more it looked like to me!

Supposedly the cops were to handle the rooftop for some unknown reason, so apparently it wasn’t too sloped for them to secure, but it was too sloped for highly trained ss snipers to deal with? Gimme a break!

It boils down to that.

I find it odd that a tree blocked the line of site, but as soon as the perp started firing, the view was no longer blocked as the snipers got a direct hit?

The fact that the perp was hit within seconds tells me that they had the scope on him the whole time, but opted not to shoot until after the perp began shooting.

[[how about this simple response? “We have a credible sighting of a possible shooter. Get the president out of there!”]]

Exactly! The ss can not explain that crucial fact away. They failed to surround President Trump, and get him off stage well before any shooting took place, and it nearly cost president Trump his life.

They can make excuses all day long about line of sight, no orders, etc, but at the end of the day, that fact that they failed to get Trump to safety immediately when they identified a credible threat is something that they can’t explain away.

18 degrees- a toddler could have navigated a slope like that with no problems. Their excuse about the slope is bogus- it doesn’t add up especially considering the snipers to Trumps right were on a slope even greater. 18 degree slope is nothing.

Even if it turned out that the perp was not a threat, it would have been far far better to get Trump to safety first, then investigste the incident- better safe than Sorry, especially in light of the fact that there apparently was co corn that Iran wanted to try something too we are now learning. There was no excuse for not getting Trump off the stage as soon as they discovered someone acting very suspiciously.

The ss had to know the perp was a danger after they saw him point a gun at the cop and drive him off. But even being on that roof should have triggered a reaction by ss to cover Trump and get him to safety.

Looking at the timeline and communications, he never should have been allowed onstage in the first place.

The Secret Service had their man on the Roof for Ten Minutes before he fired at Trump. The Secret Service knew he was there for Ten Minutes. How the Hell did they leave Trump up on Stage?

It’s just a matter of time before the Secret Service starts using a solar flare excuse as an issue the sun caused the problem.

True- but they did allow him onstage, and then got behind him, and some walked off- should, find out when all the ss knew of the threat- if they knew, then .et him be ful.y exposed to the rooftop line of sight, then wow-

And then there’s that.

Talk that the Secret Service applies a ‘shoot only after being shot at’ ROE policy.

Absolute copy of Soetero’s ROEs in Afghanistan where US troops couldn’t fire unless they were fired upon. Got kids killed.

Different terminology, depending are where you’re trained, on Deadly/Lethal Force:

Ability …. Bad guy has the means to kill or seriously injure

Opportunity …. bad guy is close enough to kill/injure …. If he has a bat and is 100yds away-NO. If he has a rifle and he’s 100yds away-Possibly

Jeopardy ….. bad guy acts in a way that could kill/harm since he has the ABILITY and he has OPPORTUNITY ….. ie - he crawls on a roof 150ish yards away, in a place he’s not supposed to be nor has a reason to be …. and he places a life/lives in JEOPARDY by pointing a rifle

They had all three for a while before he pulled that trigger. Secret Service should have pulled Pres Trump off the stage and sent a team on the roof before he pulled the trigger.

Hell, they knew about him before he got on the roof. Could have dealt with him on the ground.

Could been completely avoided

Exactly. Going through airport security, they pull people out of line for way way less suspicious activity, and bring them to back room to interrogate them. Weird how vigilant and thorough airport security is, but how lackadaisical the team “protecting” pres Trump were.

But don’t forget there was also a tree! A tree makes all the difference in the world!
