Ah shaddup. I am tired of it. Trump has made his pick and we go with it.
I wanted either Ben Carson or Tulsi Gabbard. Don’t know much about Vance at all to be honest — but think the “being on a journey” is better than being stuck in *fixed* lies, tied to *fixed* special interests, or trapped by *fixed*bad habits.
But being adaptable is not mutually exclusive with being principled.
Every criticism Hinderaker makes against Vance could be made about Trump in 2015.
I like this post over at Power line
“The difference between the two Ivy League lawyers Hinderaker and Vance appears to be 4 years in the Marines, success in venture capital and tech business in Silicon Valley, a New York Times best seller and movie, Senate by his mid-30’s, and the ability to evolve from elitist Trump and America First disgust to enlightened MAGA supporter.
Get off John’s lawn, kids! Go fight and die in the Middle East or set up manufacturing plants in China!”
Vance is wicked smart and outshines every other guy on Trump’s ‘short list’ I was relieved that he picked him over any of the rest.
I first discovered political blogs around 2003.
Over the course of 17 years my go-to sites were FR, Instapundit, HotAir, and Powerline.
As of election night 2020, the only one of these sites I’m still on is right here. I completely dropped the other three. They’re all controlled opposition.
Screw Hinderaker and his two little poodles. Screw Ed Morrissey.
And especially screw Glenn Reynolds, who tries to put himself over as this edgy alt populist, who shills for Amazon.
Instapundit’s format is basically all free flowing links to stories. In many cases it’s just a link. In many other cases, Glenn, or somebody else, makes a comment to accompany the link. And sometimes when he feels strongly about something, he’ll do his own rant accompanying the link.
I waited 3 days for him to make a statement about the election. To say something one way or the other about whether or not he thought it was stolen. He said nothing. And then he links to a story about “gaming Biden’s cabinet”.
They can all go to hell.
Did John ever say anything bad about Pence?
I agree, and am greatly disappointed.
As a former Trump-hater, he knows the other side's arguments and can dispel them with cool and aplomb.
This pick puts me back to probably sitting the election out.
He has a pathological hatred of Ukraine. And that makes it impossible for me to support him.
The Deep state fears JD Vance. That is the key, indeed the PRIMARY reason to support him.
Having an elder VP candidate with lots of gravitas (like Pence) does NOTHING to help Trump and MAGA if the DC establishment does not fear the VP.
I wanted Michael Flynn but am satisfied with the Vance pick.
It would appear Hinderaker wants a well seasoned politician... That’s the last thing we need and Trump used to be a Democrat..people change.
Vance is what is necessary for the next 4 years. Trump needs another aligned warrior at this side to fight the deep state, and to look forward to the continuation of the fight into 2028. Most of the other VP potentials are good folk, I just don’t think they had the necessary hair of the bear in them to take the fight forward. Vance appears to have that fight in him. He has also drawn scorn from the right people - RINOs and leftists. That’s good for me.
Bitch Bitch Bitch.
Vance is Trump’s choice, not his. He has all the right enemies.
I think “Hind”eraker is a good name for him.
Hinderaker is a spoogejerking chowder-inhaling dicknipple.
Whatever he says, do the opposite.
I think Trump sees Vance as a young guy he can bring along acting as a mentor. If we are going to make America great again the rust belt has to be rebuilt. JD Vance understands the problems there.
As for foreign policy lets face it its an on the job learning experience. Everyone runs for President thinking they know what’s going on and then right after inauguration they hand you what I like to call the book of secrets and you are suddenly faced with what’s really going on.
Trump is a unique character in that he did business for years with all the power players in the world before he became President. I think he pretty much knew from personal experience and was prepared to act on day one.
JD says he would have refused to certify on January 6th so imma with old judgement and see how he grows in the next 4 years.
I think, Shaddup, Never-Trumper.
“We Are Still Cucks”
Mitt Romney, Karl Rove (F.U.K.R.), and Commie Van Jones are all melting down over the pick.
Seems pretty sound to me.
Personally, I'm completely fine with someone who is not a career politician.
