I was wondering the same thing.
So much info is spreading around but I saw a comment somewhere that is pretty profound:
When some Trump supporters saw the shooter on the roof, they started yelling to the Secret Service and some police that “There’s a guy with a gun on the roof” over and over. The shooter heard them and probably rushed his shots, thus not being as accurate as he could have been. God’s hand was in this to save DJT.
