You’re tempting me to go out and buy a 10mm ...
I have no trouble handling 1911 sized handguns. I’m not a fan of Glocks.
Suggestions are welcome.
The Springfield Armory XDM Elite and Smith & Wesson M&P 10mm pistols are both well-regarded and reasonably priced. Loaded with hard cast lead bullets in the 200 grain range that caliber is amassing a solid record of success in defensive bear shootings. Personally I would prefer a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range but those are expensive…
Ruger GP 100 with Hard Cast bullets!
Six Shots with great accuracy with a couple speed loaders that give you a bit of confidence. Mines a 6” zeroed at
25 yard and 60yards is good for paper plate hits. Practice with .38 +P alot and
Then check yer Zero with costly .357 mag
Hardcast. Mine goes 2 MOA LEFT and Down.
.
That’s all I know
First on the list, BEARS will kill you. This is the best killin bears thread yet. Dan Wesson .41mag is a smooth very powerful shooter.
If I hadnt have been such a wimp in High school, my Dad loves Dan Wesson stuff hence my obsession with it, I would own the .41 mag my dad owned instead of the .357 mag. But it turned into the pistol pack, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
