It’s common for public employees to have a base salary of $100,000 but make $200,000 due to OT, bonuses etc. to the point they’re able to retire at 55 with their pension more then their base salary. Throw in benefits, its a nice chunk of change. A lot of them take another job and add that $$ to the mix.
