Pity you had to start with a personal insult. Such things are never helpful. If I’m wrong, make a polite argument. I’d appreciate that.
Anyway, the United States most certainly is an exceptional country. And part of that is to offer gentle guidance to other countries, when appropriate. Unfortunately, we go far beyond that. We preach.
To African countries: You must embrace gay rights, even though it’s against your culture.
To Israel: You must stop your attack on Hamas, even though your national security is at stake.
On and on it goes. I could easily offer a dozen more examples, but my waffles are ready. So I’ll stop here.
