it’s stuff like this in the news all the time of rights violations that depress me. I don’t want to be depressed. I want to be happy. I got an email today (just now) my Lowes credit card (the one that’s FREE) with no hidden charges just the usual 33% interest rate (I always pay on time so no worries) but NOW that will charge me $1.99 month for mailed billing. I just feel like my world is slowly under attack on a constant basis. My car spies on me. I can’t opt out. My tv supposedly spies on me. My phone spies on me. Do I have any rights at all? or will that be degraded next month or year?
Drug warriors are 100% on board.
I suppose they are looking for cash, which I understand they can seize and keep.
Bureaucratic highwaymen.
Good luck.
Perhaps the DEA is just trying to help the cartels cut down on competition
Unless they can show reasonable articulable suspicion that I committed a crime, and they can articulate that crime, they have no need to know who I am nor to search my self or property.
The Fourth Amendment is clear that they must have a warrant, the warrant must specifically state exactly what they seek and where said evidence is located
I was pulled out right before 9/11. Heavily pregnant, traveling with husband and three children, return tickets, wearing a cross, twelfth generation American.
Swab the pregnant blonde lady, don’t profile.
Hang in there Bob. I think a reconing is coming. Has ro.
Shameful.
Heck, my flight was Newark-San Francisco.
A well known pro poker player had cash and a watch confiscated at the airport and it took him years to get it back.
“What are the consequences?”
I haven’t checked, but I strongly suspect that anyone with TSA Pre-Check or Globalist Entry would have agreed to consent to searches, in exchange for less invasive screening.
I found this article from late last year about these kind of “gate searches” at ATL:
The good news is that, like any police interaction, we have the right to refuse invasive searches without a warrant (despite the officer’s claims of being “just like the TSA”). However, one should be prepared for the repercussions of exercising this right - A disgruntled police officer can likely make your travel day even more miserable....
Too bad ATL is my home airport. At least I know what to watch for :-(
Can anyone imagine any of the Founding Fathers putting up with this?
the DEA faggot has a name. It should be widely publicized along with his address. He should be laughed at and cursed every single time he leaves his home. He is a thief, and a criminal operating his illegal scam under the control of the US government. I hope he finds himself in a dark alley someday with one of his many victims.
They are very easy to spot once you know what to look for.
They all wear the same clothes. Lots of tattoos, goatees or beards....trying to look like 1% bikers
On a side note about the article you linked.
Hartsfield is in Clayton Cty. But Atlanta Police Department is the main police department there. APD has a full precinct in the North Terminal.
If there is Clayton PD/SO personnel working there, they finagled their way onto to the unit that takes money and Clayton PD/SO can get a piece of it.
In the video, when the reporter confronts the cops, they clammed up and walked toward a gate. If there’s video of them going down the jetway, when they got out of site, before getting on the plane they would show their credentials and go out the door at the end of the jetway, down the stairs and into the basement/secure area of the airport.
Thanks! I'll have to start paying more attention when I'm around there...
That made my blood boil.
Nope.
