If a company is able to run for 2 years after firing 6000 staff then the staff was just bureaucratic, useless bloat. I suspect most of these fired 6000 employees actually worked for the federal government.
You don’t need that many people to spy or suppress information. That can be done by software. The vast vast majority of that group are just Silicon Valley slackers. Not every Silicon Valley person is a hard charging code generating techno-nerd!
