No idea if true, as I haven’t followed her, or, her ancestry much.

I think her mother is from India and her father Jamaican
Her mother was (South Asian) Indian and her father was Jamaican and she spent a lot of her childhood in Canada. So not a typical Black American, though she did go to Howard University and was in a Black sorority.
Her mother was Indian, her father Jamaican. She may be what many consider black, but she has almost nothing in common with American-born blacks, neither by birth nor environment.

One drop rule when it comes to the perks of DEI. But obviously she is down for the struggle with her brothuhs and sistuhs because of her authentic hood dialect and her yearly kwanza celebrations with her Jewish hus and and Tamil Hindu family.
