I think Biden’s attitude is that he’s not just going to leave. He’d rather lose in a fight (perhaps defeated by polling or campaign money), and I don’t criticize that.

easy choice for brandon: stay in the race for POTUS and claim all the accusations are “just politics” or drop out and go to jail
It's not just Brandon and even Hunter - it's also all the other criminals they're connected to, none of whom give the slightest care about the Bidens or U.S. citizens.
This reminds me of a "Doonesbury" strip from many years ago (I stopped reading it a long time ago). Someone offers someone else a lot of money to reveal some company secrets (I think it was). The man refuses--that would be unethical. The other man keeps raising the offer. Finally the second man accepts the offer for much more than what he was first offered..
The moral was along the lines of "ethics--a powerful negotiating tool."
