I don't think that was the case. They knew what was going to happen to Joe without a teleprompter. Get it done early, during the summer when undecided voters are not really paying attention. No debates after the Labor Day by then they are gambling that this debate will be political ancient history. One week on only Trump supporters will still be talking about this debate. The next debate will not happen and Biden's camp can claim he did debate Trump already. They convinced millions of Americans the Gulf of Tonkin was real, they convinced millions of Americans Iraq had WMDs, they convinced the world COVID was a plague and MRNa was safe. They can convince millions Biden is competent.

We will see, but I think the horse is already out of the barn. Millions watched last nights debate. The CNN panel after already had people talking about someone getting Joe to step down. Also watch Anderson Cooper’s interview of Kamala after the debate. It was a hostile interview compared to anything the Biden people have experienced from CNN up to this point.
