1) CNN's relatively even-handed debate was well outside the norm. I'm not aware of any new ownership nor management at CNN that would aim for a more neutral market position. The sterile debate environment and simulcast was also outside the norm. As far as I'm concerned, the intent was the exposure of Biden's limitations.
2) The overwhelming post-debate assessment concerns the Democrats' collective POV that Biden must essentially step down. Trump was effectively a prop, and were simply observers.
The debate didn't concern us directly.

Somebody else had posted that this was a very early date for a debate. But gives the DNC enough time to prep their real candidate for their convention.
If one takes the notion that this debate was planned to show Biden’s faults, no doubt their real candidate has already been selected, funded and ready to hit the campaign trail at full speed.
The total evaporation of the fact checkers. Gone from the planet.
It will be interesting to see what happens when Democrats flood the system with fake votes for Biden.
1) If you had to pick the most unusual aspect of the debate, what would that be?
That CNN did not attempt to make Biden look good.
2) If you had to pick the most expected post-debate assessment, what would that be?
That CNN, after the debate, “fact checked” DJT and said that nothing he said during the debate was true...
The propagandists still control the narrative. POSOTUS is allowed to debate and Americans get to debate whether it is “fail and balanced”. FJB
I was shocked from the very first question how honest and fair CNN basically was.
It was so stunning that I think it even took “dark diaper brandon” a while to adjust to it also.

The Evil Party and their fully owned subsidiary The Mainstream Media were playing 4-D Chess, and (as is their character) the Stupid Party was playing, well, stupid.
Just had MSLSD on and right out the gate, Mika railing about Trump’s lies. I couldn’t stomach another minute of it. If others are brave enough to tune in, maybe she’ll spell out what all those lies are. I’d like to hear them but I couldn’t stomach watching another second.
The democrats have the means to cheat Joe Biden into another term. The problem is that they have to sell a victory as plausible. If they can’t, their cheat becomes undeniable.
After last night, there is no plausible explanation that will be accepted by the American people. If Biden were to win, the people would believe fully that the elections were rigged. Once that happens, they believe that the system provides them no peaceful recourse for change. The alternative becomes feasible.
The Dems know this and are now forced to find a candidate who they can point to as having won “fair and square” despite knowing the opposite. But their talking heads could continue to shout “election denier” to anyone who objects.
Newsom provides that plausibility. They can point to his youth and style as
a shield against charges of a rigged election. Biden, not so much of anything to point to after last night.
At one point, the persons controlling the microphone forgot their 2-1-1-1 rule and allowed an actual debate.
This rule actually favored Trump because it prevented him from interrupting and being seen as overbearing.
In every debate the questions and issues always are chosen to favor the dem and to be be what the democrats would have chosen.
