President Joe Biden and the Democrats can’t get any of their gun-grabbing, anti-Second Amendment legislation through Congress. The backdoor route of what Barack Obama used to call the “pen and a phone” of executive orders hasn’t worked so well either.

So there’s a new strategy: They’ve got the surgeon general declaring gun violence a public health crisis.

It certainly has validity - it's keeping poor people poor and turning the middle class into more poor, with all of the associated health costs.

Why are Democrats the only ones to try stretching the boundaries like this? They get away with it at least half the time, while Republicans are always the ones reacting, never acting.

Such a declaration is illegitimate. I see no reason to take it seriously. They need to stick to health issues, and even then, only make recommendations, not mandates. If we don’t push back, we’re done.
