The front-running presidential candidate, former President Donald Trump, challenged current "President" and trailing candidate Joe Biden to debate "anytime, anywhere." Team Biden quickly availed itself of the opportunity to stick their two-ton thumb on the scales and set up the terms: the candidates will do battle deep in enemy territory —CNN — on Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET.
The moderators, CNN stalwarts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, have a long history of hating on Trump. "One of the biggest challenges Donald Trump will have to face in his upcoming debate with Joe Biden on CNN on Thursday — assuming Biden shows up — won't be handling the president but having Jake Tapper and Dana Bash as the moderators," my friend and colleague Matt Margolis wrote Monday.

It won’t matter who the Dems end up running. Trump wins Big.
I think they’ll have a tough time of it trying to steal this one.
It’s just Trump being over confident. Trump truthed his acceptance very quickly. I doubt he runs these truths by anyone first (one of the things that separates him from the others). He was convinced that they didn’t really want to debate so he didn’t want to them an out. I tend to agree with your perspective. When, however, Trump did the CNN townhall many thought it a bad idea and when he did well he got a boost. If he knocks this out of the park it could be the Presidency. If, however Biden knocks it out of the park it could be exactly what he needed. Trump is playing a high stakes game. He’s putting the fate of the Republic in the hands of his ability to debate under the most difficult of circumstances. I can’t believe someone would see this as dictatorial in any way shape or form. This is a part of the democratic process. Trump could have done the basement play. It would be a much easier way to beat an unpopular incumbent.
Biden will announce he won't seek nor will he serve a second term. DNC will choose a replacement.
It could be possible that Trump intentionally entered the lions’ den.

Trump’s attitude about the media is: “Any place & anytime.”
Trump understands that a Republican politician has to deal with the media we have & not an imaginary media we would like to have.

Trump should just ignore all three and use his time to say whatever he wants to say ... it’ll drive the rest nuts AND he won’t be wasting defending himself from gotcha questions ...
