Burgum should be the choice. As Governor of ND, he has all the insight on the Bakken deposits, how we can work with Canada on oil production and distribution and he will be a key supporter in promoting the reopening of Keystone. This will lower prices and create havoc on foreign bad actors like Russia. If not for VP, Burgum should run DOE.

Good point.

There have been so many threads here on Free Republic regarding who Trump might pick as a running mate. And many potential choices have been criticized for not being MAGA.

That begs the question who else is truly MAGA and will carry on in 2028 and beyond.

There’s only one Donald Trump. It is hard to see who exactly is another Donald Trump waiting in the wings for the future.

I would hope that there are some Republicans out there who will endorse the policies of Trump in 2028 and beyond. But whoever that is, he or she is likely a conventional politician and not someone with the personality and stage presence of Trump.
