This is off topic but I would like opinions from more learned posters here than I.
Why are there no more recess appointments, ever?
Are both sides preventing the other from doing this by keeping the Senate in at least, pro-forma, nominally in-session, so there is technically no chance to? If President Trump is re-elected in November, wil that Senate also keep him from appointing people he chooses by recess, temporarily at least?
I am racking my brain for memories of when this started getting serious but am fuzzy on the timelines.

To me and notwithstanding the damage he’s caused and the opportunities he’s failed to act on, that fact alone justifies McConnell’s presence in the Senate ... but it’s long-past time for him to go.
