In downtown Los Angeles, the Weingart Center Tower has recently opened as a high-rise homeless shelter. Here are the key details:

The tower comprises 228 studio apartments, 47 one-bedroom apartments, and three apartments for onsite managers. Each unit costs an estimated $600,000 and is funded by taxpayers. Residents will have access to amenities such as a gym, an art room, a music room, and a library. This building is the first of three towers planned for the project, with the second tower set to open in 18 months. The initiative is part of LA’s efforts to address homelessness, following the passage of Proposition HHH in 2016, which allocated $1.2 billion in bonds for housing developments for unsheltered residents.

Soon to be called Cabrini-Green, Los Angeles…… can’t wait for the other Cabrini-Green‘s in other California!

Ok Freepers, we need to start discussing the coming Gavin Newsom presidential run. Yes, the hand writing is on the wall, Joe’s toast! So we need to talk up Gavin! The Democrats are running a person who has destroyed California! Major corporations leaving, restaurants closing, increasing homelessness, drug addiction deaths and this is the guy who’s to fix America’s problems? Talk up his accomplishments and ask who wants this in your city? I love today’s video of the Oakland’s Juneteenth shooting! I thought that was filmed in Baghdad or Beirut, until I realized it was Gavin’s well run city of Oakland! Run Gavin, run…. Run away from your disasters!

The people living in it will still be called "homeless" even though they are living in luxury at our expense.

You’ll are correct. Most likely they will be trashed within 1 year. Two to three years thy will be declared condemned and need to be rebuilt.

I have a customer who was building roof trusses to go for some housing on the Yakima Indian Reservation. Federal public housing being rebuilt after 25 years.
They had to completely tear down the structure and start from scratch. Even some of the concrete foundations were toast.

This will decrease homelessness like open borders solve illegal entry, and like spending trillions will help the economy. The left has no ideas that work, but endless amounts of your dollars to cast about acting like it’s a solution.

Do dims have teams of geniuses working non stop to worsen every problem we have?

Not for long. There is an apartment building in Seattle that was built for the homeless. A reporter got inside and did some undercover work. One of the tenants said they were moving out due to all of the rats inside. “Never had a rat problem living in the woods next to the freeway. Here they are EVERYWHERE!”
