My oldest son lives on Hawaii, working for the US Navy, and he wants to leave there so badly. But he has to wait a few more years. When he does leave, he wants to resettle in Tennessee. I told him as long as he stays away from Memphis and Nashville, he should be ok. :-)

I live in Norfolk, VA. When I used to like to go to the beach I didn’t go to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. You pay for parking, walk multiple blocks to get to a crowded beach, and you can’t leave your things to g into the water.
Instead, as military and later retired military, I used the beach at the Dam Neck base. Park, wild across the dune, and there you are. And being on base, was always comfortable with the other patrons on the beach. And you can have beer on the beach.
