When is FJB’s anti-pedo treatment scheduled for?
Not because of any sympathy for the child molesters, but because I'm hearing too many cases of people being exonerated after decades in prison. I oppose the death penalty for the same reason.
And congress did not push back.
One of the problems with the SC;s (extra-constitutional) Power to declare something unconstitutional or read something into the constitution is that there is no clear power to reverse that decision out side of an amendment.
And that is one reason I don’t believe that it was intended for the SC to have that power.
Jefferson did not believe that they had it.
Don’t blame our Framers.
Blame We the People who ratified the 17th Amendment.
Progressivism was assured with a second popularly elected house of Congress.
The 17th pulled the Keystone from the Framers’ Constitution which overnight rendered the US a democratic (v. federal) republic.
Why is that dumb?
Blame We the People who ratified the 17th Amendment.
Progressivism was assured with a second popularly elected house of Congress.
remember that the Constitution is a political document as such a compromise.
My intent is not to blame the founders but to point out that Hancock was a Progressive before that term was coined.
Hancock was a Federalist, Jefferson anti-Federalist.
The Federalist were for the Constitution which would substantially increase the power of the central government.
The anti-Federalist were to amending the Articles of Confederation which would maintain a weaker central government.
There is no getting around the facts that Hancock was for a central bank and a national debt. Those facts exist in his letters.
