Earlier, renowned law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote from inside Merchan’s court:

<><>Merchan even denied the jury a legal expert’s input,
<><>that there was no federal election violation,
<><>that required dismissal for (a) lack of evidence, or, (b) lack of a recognizable crime.
And now we know why: this Judge is not going to assist
a case when his daughter, a Democrat consultant,
has $125 Million in fees on the line, and is being given
unlimited access to his court.
Congress needs to pass a law making it a crime to profit on a case being tried.
