New York Jury Reaches Verdict on Trump’s NY Lawfare Trial—- GUILTY VERDICTS – 1-5, 13, 14, 19, 20, 24, 26, 30, 31, 34, — EACH COUNT COULD HAVE 4 YEARS IN PRISON!

The the jury was given the liberty to select from three main options, effectively turning the process into a choose-your-own-adventure game of legal implications.

Violations of federal election law (which no one in that courtroom is familiar with, and the judge specifically prevents Brad Smith from testifying about); The falsification of business records; and Tax violations

“All part of the evil game plan to keep Trump off the campaign trail. He will be told to stay in NY then on July 11 he will be sentenced to house arrest to keep him off the campaign trail.”

The first part of this prediction was wrong even before you posted. Judge Merchan could have set bail, but he didn’t. He released Trump on his own recognizance. Trump didn’t put up any bail money and he can travel anywhere he wants to. (He may have to come back to NY for one mandatory interview with a probation officer or someone else who makes a sentencing recommendation, but that’s all.)

As for the July 11 sentencing, here are my predictions:
1. Sentence will not include any prison time or any prohibition on Trump leaving New York.
2. If the sentence does include any such provision, that part will be stayed until the appeal is resolved.
3. The appeal will not be resolved until long after the election.

I hope the jurors don’t think they are heroes. They will go down in history as traitors.

I have followed one other FR thread with over 500 comments and still haven’t found out what the other crime was. Which one/ones of the underlying crimes did the jury say he committed? Doesn’t that have to be part of the record? Was it tax fraud, election interference or whatever the other one was?

I’m still voting for Trump!

Tomorrow you will see the socialist dems try to use this to throw him off the ballot!

I don’t see a federal issue, other than requiring a stay of the sentence while Trump campaigns.

They tried him without laying out the charges against him before the trial. They only laid out charges which were only a crime if in pursuit of a different unspecified crime.

Why couldn’t the lawyers find one honest juror to deadlock the jury?

The judge rushed them through until he got his quotient. The defense doesn’t get to pick the jury.

I’m glad Trump was convicted

I don’t fault the jurors, because they were blindfolded by the judge, not lady Justice.

I think it’s good for the country, better than leaving the current politicized justice system in place, because it’ll bring matters to a head sooner, so they can be corrected.

Pretty much all or nothing. It’s essentially the same count 34 times, with innuendo for evidence.

Some were for the log of the voucher/bill submitted by Cohen, and some of them were for each of two different steps in the payment log.

this guilty verdict literally makes me throw up

It was a foregone conclusion. So many violations of due process along the way....

That all seems reasonable. The left has won this round. They have tagged Trump with being the first President found guilty of felonies.

Let’s see where it goes from here.

Add in failure to present the elements of the charges before the trial, not allowing significant advance notice of who the next witnesses were going to be, and that silliness of the jurors not having to agree on the predicate crime.
