The 6th amendment says that a defendant in a criminal prosecution has the right "to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation"--too bad it doesn't specify that has to be done at the beginning of the trial, not after the defense has its last opportunity to speak.

The same amendment speaks of "compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor" which Merchan disregarded by refusing to allow the former FEC head to testify that Trump had not violated federal election law...which will probably be the most important of the three crimes the jury can pick from.
