Maybe Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein” was also used for the
DJ’s to take a 6th Inning stretch. The original “Frank” was only 4.45 minutes, but it seemed a lot longer.
That was pure, unadulterated synthesized Power Rock as most remember it.
How about “Suppers Ready”?
In my home room in Junior High grade 7 and 8 there was a record player and this album. Before classes began at 9am those of us who got there early put this song on and played it countless times during those years. It is a part of my youth and growing up.
I remember reading in the ‘70s that Erik Brann the guitarist was only 17 when they recorded In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.
That’s true!
Maybe a great two-fer would be Inna-gadda-da-vida and Close to the Edge by Yes
With all due respect, Aside from song length there is no comparison of those two.
XERB - Wolfman Jack
I haven’t seen that episode in years, so my memory is a bit rusty.
Then it makes a great juxtaposition. To be fair, nothing compares with CTTE. It's its own genre.
I needed That !
I grew up to fast
Always hated it. But I wasn’t on drugs....
...or the DJ’s girlfriend showed up at the studio.....
Not Me in the Slow lane...
Chased by Sirens and skeeching Tires!
.
By the Grace of God I write this!
The Doors - The End, was almost 12 minutes long, there were a lot of long songs back then when the music was king.

I read that Doug Ingle was the last surviving member of the original lineup of the band. Now the originals are all gone the touring groups under the name Iron Butterfly are all fill ins.
Yep, we’re starting to get to where there are no surviving members of bands. The last surviving member of the MC5 passed away a few weeks ago.
my favorite cover of “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” was when Bart Simpson substituted the church organ music sheets with the music sheets for “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” and the church organist lady played the ENTIRE thing without realizing the music had been switched ...
A few years ago, I was undergoing a CAT scan. The technician asked me if I would like to listen to music during the test. She also asked what type of music I’d like to hear. I think I said classic rock. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida came up and basically took me through the entire test. 😎
We are lucky to have Survived...
.
I’m seeing so many times I should been a brown Skidmark.
Ha!
Awesome! 👍
