You are correct. They want a court to convict Trump of anything so that they can say that he is a convicted criminal.
Never mind that it will be overturned on an appeal. This is lawfare and the dims and their friends in the courts will convict him of anything to get the talking point.
Trump is innocent of these false charges yet he may be convicted anyway for the sole reason that Democrats have been brainwashed to hate him. Hopefully the Bronx rally opened one jurors eyes.
