Any species that can travel interstellar distances would have the technology to totally destroy us or control us. If UFOs of interstellar intelligence are here, they are simply studying us like we do bacteria in a petri dish. If they have a sense of humor they are probably amused.

They are definitely amused … and they must be having a great series of debates about how we could possibly have gotten to the top of the food chain here. Maybe, if they caused the dinosaur-killing asteroid to hit our planet, they are regretting their decision.
