In one sense you’re correct, the Japanese do believe in face saving and not being embarrassed in public.
How ever if you’ve ever studied a Japanese martial art as I did many years ago if becomes quite clear that when it comes to combat the Japs always go straight for the jugular as it were. No ‘’thrust and parry’’.
