Just curious, but: Why would an individual living alone need two cars?

I paid off one, then decided to keep it as a work beater/back up in semi retirement. My newer vehicle isnt really a toy, but. Also trying to keep mileage, wear and tear on it to a minimum.

Commuter and Trip
Truck for towing and car for driving w/o trailer
There are plenty of reasons to have different vehicles for various purposes/scenarios.
