If your first question is, what the heck is a Guardian Cap don’t feel bad because I asked the same question - it’s a padded outer shell worn over a normal helmet and is meant to cut down on concussions. In practice this might be a good idea but in games it makes the player’s head look enormous and also makes them look ridiculous IMO. Football is a violent contract sport that a lot of people love, making the players look ridiculous is going to be bad for the sport. Since this is voluntary this year it will be interesting to see how many players actually wear them
If you look at NFL players today most of them don’t wear gear that fully protects them, look at how many WRs and DBs wear thigh and knee pads, virtually none of them, in fact most of them only wear a helmet and shoulder pads and nothing else.
bubble wrap the pansies.
Watching over-paid morons in funny hats running around what used to be a football field, patting each other on the ass.
Yeah, sure! That’ll bring ‘em back!
Go Woke…Go Broke!
I hate to break it to you, but the NFL is more profitable than ever.

That helmet doesn’t work with ludacris speed impacts, but it may work in football.
True that. However lets not get in the way of their little virtue signal party ;) On another note. The NFL Draft in Detroit has been record setting and the vibe downtown the last two days has been great. Hats off to the folks in Detroit that put on a class show for the country to see.
They look like the kind of thing you’d put on the head of a special needs kid, to keep him from smashing his head on things!
NFL regular-season games averaged 17.9 million viewers in 2023, tied for the second highest since averages were first tracked in 1995.
Why don’t they make quarterbacks wear dresses, too?
I get that people don’t like the NFL, what I don’t get is people who want to signal to the world they hate the NFL and make it their mission to tell everyone as if they deserve some type of medal for virtue signaling.
Wait until you see the Gators and some other SEC team run out of the tunnel at the Swamp with those ridiculous things on their heads.
Because once the NFL starts doing this, the college won’t be far behind.
The NFL is the most popular sport in the USA by a wide margin, but they are still hypocrites in many ways, for example the Thursday night games should be done away with if the NFL was truly concerned about reducing injuries, play all the games once a week on Sundays and one game on Monday night, the players would like it and the fans who attend games would like it as well, but the NFL makes a ton of money on the Thursday night game and ignores that it put players in more jeopardy of injury because of the reduced recovery time, especially for the visiting team.
The other area of hypocrisy is the embrace of gambling, for years the NFL fought tooth and nail to stop gambling on NFL games, now they openly embrace it with some of the owners as investors in Draftkings and Fan Duel because they see the enormous profits that come from Gambling.
P.S. Yes those “caps” look STUPID
********
Well they don’t do much looking. But if they
protect the head, brain then wear’em. jmo
I assert that they’d be better going back to leather helmets because it would force them to tackle properly and not go for the big hit.
Why, does it hurt your feelings little snowflake?
People also don’t like sci Fi, but I don’t assign any cosmic significance to them telling me that.
As far as the NFL being popular, so is Taylor Swift.
Thank you for confirming my description, it could not be any more perfect, it fits you to a Tee.
The gambling, and the people that talk about their bets bore the H*ll out of me. LOL!
The Lions and Buckeyes games in the Fall are on all 15 of my TVs throughout the Property (house, garage, patio & garden. That way I can do other things while the game is on. Hustling drinks and grilling for my guests
Pregame and Halftime is put on mute as nobody has time for that nonsense. ;)
Aren't buckeyes brown nuts that are a squirrel's favorite food?
Oh, sorry, you meant the team that now has a chance in college football, now that Harbaugh has gone back to the nfl.
Good luck with that.
Just kidden, maybe.
