I am frequently (and justifiably) very critical of police officers. In many cases, they are their own worst enemies.

This officer is greatly to be commended for being calm and “de-escalatory”. This could be used as a training film for other officers on how to remain in control of oneself and of the situation without being a thug.

Oh ... that that twerp really screwed up his life, if he ends up with a felony conviction.

Agreed. AND, he was nice to their dogs.

I’ve always thought that patience and politeness goes a long way in police encounters. Of course they encounter so many grade a butt heads that they need to get control of immediately some forget how to dial it back.
