That said, $6k for a paint job on a vehicle with existing dents? Is that to fix everything he didn’t do and make it a show truck?

Pretty sure someone who hates Trump would Kay the truck so hard it would gouge even through the primer. Then apparently- though he denies it - he went all the way around the vehicle so it would be a case of every single panel being gouged.
I can easily see $6K, especially since it's both sides of the truck. Paint (especially) and body work are super expensive now. I got a quote last year to fix a bad repair/paint job on the right side of the hood of one of my old cars, from a guy who's fairly reasonable, and it was $2000 -- just for the right side of the hood.
