A friend of mine was confronted with exactly that intel community:
"Your well-respected-in-the-community spouse will find kiddy-porn on his computer if you don't stop [doing ...]." By so doing, the intel community was implicitly acknowledging and confirming the factual (perhaps insufficiently public) claims against it by my friend were true.

It's clearly a go-to paradigm that almost always works, irrespective of whether the kiddy-porn attackee was recorded in any peccadillo.

In the case of my friend, the threat didn't work, for one glaring reason: the computer-based message communicating it wasn't seen until after the attack had already taken place (not that it would've made any difference). After a long period of suffering, my friend's husband did pass away.
