“A World War I survivor, our guy joined the right-wing Freikorps paramilitaries”
???????????????????
I stopped reading right there.
NOTHING about the Nazi party was right-wing, from their beginnings to the way they ran the country to the way way they met their ignominious end.
They were Leftist through and through, top to bottom, beginning to end.
My grandfather, a veteran of both world wars, and a Nazi, would have been really pissed off by that characterization.
I see your idiotic perspective voiced repeatedly in American right-wing circles.
They did make an agreement with the German right to get Hitler appointed chancellor... but that was basically a “you conservatives are going to lose either way, do you want to lose to us? Or to the communists who will murder you?” type of thing.
Yup, I agree. It was not worth reading with the misuse of the term “right-wing”.
Someone apparently doesn’t know the difference between the Freikorps and the National Socialists.
You probably also don’t know what happened to the Strasserites and the other socialist in the the party.
They were right wing compared to the Stalinism running Russia at thtim& the comrades of the New York times!
Leftists always say “Nazi”, so they don’t have to say “National SOCIALIST”.
we need to call the nazi what they were nationalistic communist. they never were the right they were always the left
