Controversy erupted at the Stronger Men’s Conference in Springfield, Missouri, organized by James River Church, a notable Pentecostal megachurch, when Pastor Mark Driscoll publicly criticized a ‘strip-show-like performance by Alexandr Magala, a sword swallower and Vegas performer known for his past as a male stripper.
The Jezebel spirit opened our event… On it was a pole… The same thing that’s used in the strip club for women who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men. In front of that was a man who ripped his shirt off like a woman does in front of a pole at a strip club… That man, then, is sinning,” Driscoll said.
John Lindell argued that Driscoll had crossed a line by not bringing his concerns directly to him before addressing the audience.

Must see videos...first of the perv dancer, then of the based pastor
I attended a Pentecostal church....this would not even have been thought about.
I know this isn’t in a “church”, it is in a conference of some kind, but...I don’t get it. Why a pole dancer?
What would be the point? And given it is a “men’s conference”, it would seem to invite homosexuality.
I was wondering if it was really AoG. Around here we have “bloody hymn” Pentecostals and “rock-n-roll” Pentecostals.
“itching ears syndrome” is what got a truth-telling pastor removed from the stage. the sheep are being separated from the goats at every turn, every day. if YOU don’t see it, guess which one YOU are. “no brag, just fact” Will Sonnet.
There were many angry voices yelling at the end but I’m not sure if they are directed at the pastor or the pole dancer.
Hm. I watched the whole thing. Not appropriate. Evocative, if not equivalent of pole dancing. Licking the sword then swallowing it.
Didn’t like it.
Don’t know who thought this was a good idea. Granted, I know nothing about the guy. He may be completely Born Again, and this show is what he is known for, but I wouldn’t have had him do it in that venue.
Our preacher could pick a mean bass....and bring the fire and brimstone.
So if a pastor approves an event where the actors strip almost naked before a church audience, another pastor would have to sit and wait until the abomination ends, and gets into everyone’s eye gates, before protesting? Nonsense. The approving pastor deserves a rebuke — or at least a walk-out — on the spot.
I’m so proud of Pastor Driscoll for standing up to that evil and perversion.
“Our preacher could pick a mean bass”
It was his amps that pumped out the bass.
Well it was one of God’s amps
I just don’t see any basis for glorifying one’s self in front of a religious gathering.
Weird
I would have helped him clear the sanctuary!
