There have been months of speculation that he was angling for the Libertarian Party nomination.
Kennedy told a reporter with ABC News on Saturday night that he would run independently.
“We’re not gonna have any problems getting on the ballot ourselves so we won’t be running libertarian,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy’s campaign confirmed the news in a statement to The Hill on Sunday.
“Mr. Kennedy has many areas of alignment with the Libertarian Party, including a strong stance on civil liberties and keeping the country out of foreign wars,” a spokesperson for Kennedy’s campaign told the outlet.
The statement continued, “Mr. Kennedy, however, is not contemplating joining the Libertarian ticket. He is running as an Independent candidate and will be on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.”

He passed Big Mike into third choice in the betting recently.
President Trump is slightly under even money
Jackass in chief is slightly over even money
RFK Jr is 26/1.
These odds come from a place that offers $30K limits on it, not these $100 places that are easily manipulated and most often cited by the MSM.
Too bad, these two crazy groups deserved each other.
I was thinking he’d do better if he were on the Libertarian ticket.
Lyndon LaRouche approved this message.
I love him like I loved Nader. Heh heh.
Libertarian Party has never cracked 5% in any presidential election. Its high-water mark was the 3.28% Gary Johnson received in 2016 after all the hype and media appearances about how unlikable Hillary/Trump were.
Of course YOU. are disappointed. RFK running as a Libertarian would have hurt Trump a lot.
I used to be a libertarian I think one time we got 1.3% of the vote.
RFK’s platform such as he has one, is nowhere libertarian. He is a liberal in the sense of the 70s and 80s and that means a lot of government programs. I respect what he is found because the democrats have been trying to sabotage him since day 1. And Biden obviously wants him dead by withholding secret service. but he’s not a libertarian and I just can’t see Libertarians voting for him, they’ll be happy with their ususal 1%.
No, neither will hurt Trump, they are both crackpot groups that deserve each other.
I can’t make any sense of what Kennedy is doing. What is his end game other than losing the Presidency?
The Losertarians have cost the Republicans countless races over the years. Half of the people they run are just rat operatives.
Does RFK support the Libertarian party immigration policy, do you or did you?
What is this a litmus test?
I support limited immigration based on what we might need as far as labor or specialized skills. I support tight border controls trump was on the right track with stay in mexico. They pass 20 US counsulates and an embassy in Mexico to get to our border and enter illegally.
If you’re illegal here you should get deported immediately or if a hearing, stay in custody till after the hearing. Local cops should be able to ask for papers. When an illegal gets out of jail, ICE should have been called and ready to deport. Jail or prison is automatic deportation when you get out. I worked in corrections and we used to have an immigration office come once a month interview the illegals who were going to parole gearing and when they got parole tWo handed them over to immigration right at the gate.
I liked the libs because of small government and adherence to the constitution. IO still believe in that but many republicans don;’t I consider myself independent but I usually vote against leftists and for conservatives, hard to find in Calif.
You posted this “””I used to be a libertarian I think one time we got 1.3% of the vote.

So I asked you if he agreed with the LP on immigration and since you used to like them I wondered if you did or do, no litmus test, just a normal question to your post.
you got a detailed answer after my initial response so what wth do you want now? You’re going into stalking mode.
You ignored my post entirely, you didn’t answer it at all.
Kennedy’s policies closely align with the Libertarian Party - except when they don’t. And they don’t, more often than they do.
I guess you ignored the questions about the Libertarian Party because you don’t know RFK’s positions or the Libertarian Party’s positions.
