I have seen some parts. Slide seems the same. Spring is specific. Mag is different. Ejector is different.
Those parts are supposed to slide onto a 1911 frame.
I actually prefer a .38 Super with jacketed hollow points, getting to old to lug the weight of a 1911 and wrists aren’t what they used to be.

Worked great, so long as you measure success against the actual goal: disarming Americans.
Depends on who made them, but most 9mm 1911s have slides of similar weight to the .45 versions, if not a bit heavier. A lot of them even have the same outer barrel diameter as the .45 versions, just a differently machined breech face, etc.
