Actually it doesn’t take two wreck a marriage. Most narcissists can handle that all on their own, as can most addicts, alcoholics, adulterers and abusers.
Sure, lots of couples blow up their marriages with mutual foolishness, but lots of others blow up because one person is totally dysfunctional.
You sound like you have personal experience, or someone you love has. What you said is true though. There are times when one spouse is off kilter and the other spouse can’t do anything about it.
I don’t know which of these two is to blame, but I do think $25K per month is verrrry generous, even if designated by the courts. How can you not make ends meet on that? Why is she asking for more? Doesn’t make sense to me unless she thinks she’s a prima donna.
