Read a report yesterday that the pilot tried to reverse engines. Ship travelling at 9 miles per hour at time of collision. Even at that low speed not enough time to stop.

The Queen Mary cut her engines 30 miles from destination port.

If there was no power, how could he have reversed?

I was told that he couldn’t drop the anchor because that function requires power, also.
