It is obvious from one of the videos that the ship was steered hard to the right into the bridge pier.
If not for that steerage it would appear to have passed under the bridge.
I explain, the viewers perspective of the side of the ship shortens rapidly as it approaches ie: comes towards the bridge pier which indicates alignment with not divergence from.

I listened to a couple marine experts discussing this. The ship has a single screw. Going into full reverse would push the bow starboard..

It was highly convenient that there were 2 course changes that put it in line toward the support...

Then, as seen on the video, there's a sudden hard turn to the right to the support.
