I would not want to grow up in today's America.
Who destroyed the American family? That’s who did this.
My folks are boomers. Recently they shared a meme, “We had no idea how good we had it and no clue that we were the last ones.”
That’s basically true. They were privileged, they played outside, they got more home cooking, the beach was free, and the music was better.
They also talk about massive anxiety, starting with the Cuban missile crisis. Viet Nam. The drugs. A lot of friends who didn’t live to age 25. Or even 18.
But overall they pity those who came along later. As Dad puts it, “we were born in the sweet spot.”
Your parents are wise. Sadly, folks like them are also disappearing as has morals, values and ethics. And I like that “we were born in the sweet spot.” Well stated. Kudos.
they are taxed the hardest with little assurance that SS will be there for them....
guys need to be tall and athletic looking and girls must have silicon breasts or they will be ignored, or called "guilty"....
tv/movies/music has taught them that to be cool one must make a lot of money, have a lot of sex, and not have a care in the world....
I would be depressed too if I had to go thru these times as a young person.
