ISW (3 April): reports:
“Ukraine and Finland signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement on April 3.
Finland also announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth 188 million euros (about $204 million) that includes air defense materiel and large-caliber artillery ammunition.”
Also, ISW reports that Russia is generally picking up the pace of its ground assaults, throwing more armor into them, and has reconstituted with more recruited bodies. They are likely trying to take advantage in the slowdown of Western aid, and make progress before the Spring Mud Season.
After the mud season, Russia is expected to throw a big push against Ukrainian lines. They have been massing equipment, troops and supplies.
Generally speaking, in southern Ukraine, the soil will be dry from around mid-April, then two weeks later in the Donetsk region, and from mid-May in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region further north.
