If they let the Russians stay after what they did to the Syrian people then it is about money and they are no better than Assad, probably aren’t.

Glad the Israelis are taking care of business and demilitarizing Syrian weapons and weapons storage

Of course in was about money for the Russians. The question is was it also about drugs. On this evening’s Public TV programs I first heard about the discovery of a big Syrian drug operation apparently the project of Assad’s brother. This drug, Captagon, also known as the “poor man’s cocaine,” apparently is popular in the Middle East, and elsewhere? I wonder whether it is already in Russia or if Putin has been trying to keep it out? The Google page linked below has several articles on this new development in Assad debauchery and ruination of human beings.

The large quantity of the amphetamine related raw materials suggest that there may have been plans to expand this whole drug operation to other drugs and locations. Apparently this drug was being used for income because of the restrictions that had been place on Syria for their human rights violations. The level of knowledge and cooperation of Russia in this situation is of special interest as negotiations of Putin with the new guys in charge plays out. Reports are that the new guys have already destroyed large quantities of this/these drugs.
