“Moldova cleared a crucial hurdle as part of its bid to join the European Union in a set of votes on Sunday, after turnout passed the level required for the result of a referendum to be valid.

Some 42% of voters participated in the plebiscite as of 6 p.m. local time, exceeding the one-third threshold required to validate the ballot, the Central Electoral Commission said. That means the country is likely to back EU membership, since polls show a majority of Moldovans are in favor.

The nation is also holding a presidential election, in which the pro-European incumbent Maia Sandu is favored to win a second term.”

If interpreted correctly, I believe the Russian said it was worse than Mariupol and he had been there. I wonder if he meant before or after Russia destroyed Matiupol?
