Russian forces have started to build trench networks in the Kursk region. The first lines are sprouting south of Kurchatov, where the nuclear power plant is situated.

What is obvious is that the fortification go along the highway E-38, connecting Kursk and Rylsk. I assume that they selected this highway to be their primary artery for their logistics in this sector, and which they cannot afford to lose if they want to effectively hold Kursk City and Kurchatov.

This is the same highway where the Russian convoy got annihilated by Ukrainian missiles near Rylsk in Oktyabr'skoe, few days ago, destroying hundreds of Russian troops and at least one dozen vehicles.
