Understood, if I understand map dark red and blue mean solid win, light red or blue means lean

Seeing states like Oregon and Texas as leaning is curious.

I can see reasons for Texas, it used to be solid democrat, big state with lots of immigration both legal and illegal and interstate esp from kali. Several large cities like Houston and Austin that are lefty…., but Oregon?

I thought the infection from its southern border state had infected it beyond repair.

My assumption and observations have been leftists fleeing the effects of their own policies like high taxes, high crime, and high regulations, destruction of social norms…, but similar to modern day “communists/ socialists” who discount issues of the past saying “we can do it right and it will work”. Move to these states with the same f’d up mindset that ruined the state they are fleeing

And bring this destruction to their new nest.

If Oregon is only leaning dim, does that signal some kind of “jump the shark” scenario

Bit of a rant, but I fear now that Harriet seems to have a lock on the nomination the party, the media, the deep state(or whatever name you give it) will coalesce around her, memory hole everything about ole Joe and her pitiful past, fire up the gaslighting and fraud apparatus and repeat 2020

I have taken Trump surviving this assassination as Devine intervention and if so perhaps there is still hope for this country.

Perhaps you can tell I woke up “a bit “ on the discouraged side of the bed

The last time Oregon went Republican for president was in 1984.

I wonder how many woke up to join the “discouraged side of the bed” upon hearing Trump’s urging that all Christians vote for him as he will fix the country so well they will not need to vote again. How many have interpreted this to mean, that NO VOTE will be allowed again once Trump/Vance are in charge. Here are some other negatives to consider, even with Sununu’s opinion that this statement by Trump should be of no concern.

How many Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and non religion affiliated people will be put off by this direct appeal to Trump’s beloved Christians?

Many Muslims withheld their primary votes from Biden because of his support for Israel. Jews are probably concerned over US negativity to current Israeli leadership. Will this extravagant appeal to Christians move them from a Republican or stay-at-home vote to active Dem support? If I remember correctly, a lot of the Muslim non-votes were in swing state Michigan.

Since Trump has never appeared especially religious, how many will be turned off by this showy appeal to beloved Christians as phony vote pandering?

Some Republicans really believe in the Constitution and our founding fathers concern to eliminate religion from political contention and governance. How will they react with their votes or political contributions of money or time to Trump’s religious stand?

For students of history, and some are even here at FR, the horror of the European religious wars which framed our founding fathers downplaying of religion still makes sense. We have only to consider the current religious conflict between Muslim Sunni and Shia, or against other branches of Islam. The Iran/Saudi Arabia split immediately comes to mind.
