It is no secret that for several months Ukrainian troops have been attacking our oil refining facilities. Despite official statements from the authorities, everyone understands that some of the enterprises were damaged or destroyed.
According to our information, at least 24 factories have been damaged. Some - strongly. This led to a drop in oil refining by about 17%. There are no plans to lift the ban on gasoline exports, as this could provoke a serious shortage in the domestic market. However, some government representatives insist that gasoline supplies abroad should be resumed.
What is important: the President does not have a complete picture of what is happening before his eyes. And this is a real problem, because it affects real budget revenues, and our position as an exporter of petroleum products in the world.
So far, fortunately, few of our partners have refused to buy petroleum products from Russia, although some have switched to purchasing crude oil.
At the same time, SVR is aware that some of our clients have begun looking for new, more reliable suppliers. I would like to believe that the President will be informed about the real state of affairs and measures will be taken to prevent serious consequences of the strikes.
Alas, there are not enough air defense systems to close all important facilities throughout the country.
