Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Additional Air Defense should probably precede the F-16s. Maybe some strikes on Russian missile delivery capabilities.

Maybe the could mine out some tunnels to park the F-16s underground, and secure the support equipment.

Absolutely...each F-16 airbase should have a dedicated Patriot battery.

With the A-50s grounded, surface-to-air systems are operating in autonomous mode, complicating command & control.

Ukraine has also conducted numerous strikes on Crimea's Command, Control and Communications centers over the past few months. In addition to the equipment/infrastructure, consider the human losses in these command center strikes too. Datalink management and understanding the entire battle space isn't a simple job, and taking these people out is significant.

Excellent info! Thanks.

Here's some additional information on the shoot down.

Russian Telegram channels shared more details about the Russian aircraft that crashed yesterday in Crimea.

Reportedly, it was a Su-27 and it was shot down by the Russian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile-gun system. For some unknown reason, the air defense did not receive notification of the departure of their Su-27.

Because the Pantsir system's combat crew did not receive a response from the Su-27 pilot to its interrogation, a decision was made to fire the plane for effect. As it became known later, the system's crew interrogation did not reach the Su-27 pilot because the IFF interrogator on the Pantsir system was not working correctly.

Some Russian media called this a "technical deficiency."

Without a doubt, Russian air defense components are operating in autonomous mode.

One of the greatest failures of the west, as I understand US alone has some 55 patriot systems, many I am sure are in east Asia, but many USand nato Allie’s have them in europe.

Deploy them to Ukraine, shoot down as many missiles and aircraft as possible, so the treat to not just Ukraine but the west is severely degraded.

I do hope several systems are deployed with F-16s and hopefully as well gripens

From what I understand, over half our Patriot batteries are deployed outside the US. We have a huge back-order for foreign sales. Japan and Germany are already building missiles under license. We should add another missile production line in Europe, as well as building a production line for the launchers, Radars and other components. Raytheon is building 12 Batteries/year, but the demand far exceeds that. I would also like to see a longer range missile added to Patriot batteries, like the SM-6, particularly the blk 1B. The US Army has already bought the truck based VLS to launch them (Typhon MRC).

To add, Europe has selected Patriot as one leg of the European Sky Shield Initiative, along with Arrow and IRIS/T. France has been resisting and wanting EU built systems. Maybe a Patriot production line in France gets them on board.

Agreed, but Ukraine needs them now, every missile shot down over Ukraine is a missile that can’t be used against others
Not sure how they don’t see that

China is watching how we react

The Sun (UK) reports:

“PUTIN’S PAL Russia’s most notorious gangster FREED from jail early for ‘helping Putin recruit convicts for Ukraine meatgrinder war’

“Putin allegedly uses his criminal pal to meddle in Georgia’s politics.

RUSSIA’S most notorious mafia king has been quietly released from prison four years earlier as an alleged gesture of goodwill from Putin.

Crime boss Shakro Molodoy, 71, was freed from the maximum security colony after reportedly not ordering prisoners to boycott’s Putin’s war…

… Shakro - a citizen of the former Soviet republic of Georgia - was also sentenced in absentia to 18 years in prison for murder in Tbilisi.

The underworld boss was also allegedly in charge of a “criminal congress” with 150 delegates in the Armenian capital of Yerevan in January 2015.

“This was the largest congress of leaders of the criminal world in the last 20 years,” said an official source.

Molodoy may have been released early in a Putin attempt to meddle in the politics of Georgia, claimed former president Mikheil Saakashvili”

What is Zelensky up to in Transnistria?

An interesting personnel appointment of the Ukrainian president went unnoticed in our information field.

Zelensky sent former Secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council Alexey Danilov as Ambassador to Moldova. It would seem, what do we care?

It turns out there is. We talked to our sources around Kiriyenko and they drew attention to two points.

Firstly, Danilov is one of the rather bright Ukrainian hawks. An obvious Russophobe. And he is not just removed from the team, but placed in such an important direction. Obviously, for a reason.

Secondly, Zelensky has long been pushing Sandu to resolve the issue of Transnistria . Danilov’s arrival in Chisinau could take these discussions to a new level. This appointment coincided with Kiriyenko’s intensification in this direction. The former Secretary of the Security Council clearly has an abundance of knowledge about the situation in the region.

In any case, it will be interesting to watch events in the region. The appointment of a new Ukrainian ambassador is clearly not ordinary.

Shoigu told Putin that the NWO could end this year. There are 3 points.

Sergei Shoigu recently told Vladimir Putin that the SVO could end successfully for us this year. At the same time, he named 3 points that should help victory.

“The first two factors that the minister named to Vladimir Vladimirovich were the disruption of Western military assistance to the Kyiv regime and mobilization in Ukraine. Active work is underway on both issues.

“The third moment surprised Vladimir Vladimirovich, but Sergei Kuzhugetovich convinced the President that he was also very important,” said our source in the Kremlin.

According to him, Shoigu continues to believe that the ashes of Alexander Suvorov, which are now being carried along the front line, will help finish the North Military District with a victory this year.

The minister told the president that more than two dozen officers had already prayed near the remains of the great commander, and this “seriously increased their morale.”

At the same time, Shoigu kept silent about the tragedy in the Zaporozhye region, when officers died gathered near the ashes of Suvorov ( we wrote about it ). Vladimir Vladimirovich learned about the emergency after a conversation with the head of the Ministry of Defense.

Let us note that our sources in the General Staff confirmed that Suvorov’s ashes are being carried along the front line. In particular, he was recently on a helicopter that attacked Ukrainian positions.

Our interlocutors fear that the excessive faith of Shoigu and several people close to him in the power of these ashes could lead “to great disappointments and even increased losses at the front.”

And they hope that Putin will give the order to return the remains of the commander to the grave.
